Chicago Shootings Kill 1, Wound 9 Since Monday

CHICAGO — One person is dead and nine others were wounded in shootings citywide since Monday.

At 2:35 p.m. Monday, a male was fatally shot in South Chicago, police said. Police could not provide an exact age for the victim. 

• At 1:45 a.m. Tuesday in Marquette Park, a 27-year-old man was shot while walking outside in the 2800 block of West 64th Street, police said. 

He was shot in his abdomen and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.

The shooting may have been gang-related, according to a police source. 

A 22-year-old man was shot in a car in Rogers Park Monday night, police said. 

• At 7:30 p.m. Monday in Marquette Park, a 28-year-old man was shot in his right thigh in the 6900 block of South California Avenue, police said. 

The man took himself to Stroger Hospital, police said. 

The shooting may have been gang-related, according to a police source. 

• At 7:15 p.m Monday in North Lawndale, an 18-year-old man was shot in his right thigh while he was in the 3800 block of West Roosevelt Road, police said. 

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to police. 

The shooting may have been gang-related, according to a police source. 

• At 7:02 p.m. Monday in Garfield Park, a 69-year-old man was shot in his left ankle while walking in the 4100 block of West Madison Street, police said. 

Someone was running down the street and shot the victim, who was not the intended target.

The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.

• At 3:05 p.m. Monday in North Lawndale, two men were shot while standing on a sidewalk in the 3600 block of West Douglas Boulevard.

A 33-year-old man was shot multiple times in his body and was taken to Mount Sinai in critical condition. A 31-year-old man was shot in his left leg and taken to Stroger.

The men were shot by someone from a white sedan.

A man was shot in Logan Square Monday afternoon. The wound may have been self-inflicted.

• At 12:19 p.m. Monday in Humboldt Park, a 23-year-old man was shot while he was standing outside in the 900 block of North Hamlin Avenue, police said. 

He was shot in his leg and arm by someone on foot. The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital.

No one is in custody in these incidents.
