BOYSTOWN — The 21st annual Northalsted Halloween Parade is just one week away. Here's everything you need to know about it:

How to participate: You can register for free to walk in the parade online in advance or at 5 p.m. in person the day of.

Logistics: The parade begins at 7:30 p.m. on Halloween at Halsted and Belmont then heads north on Halsted to Cornelia.

How to win: A panel of drag queens will judge contestants in four categories: theme, group, drag and scariest. Winners will receive prizes.

More details: The parade will be led by the Chicago Thriller flash mob, which performs the full Michael Jackson dance from the "Thriller" music video. You can learn more about joining the flash mob here.

After the parade, keep the party going by hitting up one of the bars or restaurants on haunted Halsted Street, with Halloween specials all night.
