DOWNTOWN — The new Small Cheval on the Chicago River opens Monday.

Brendan Sodikoff's acclaimed burger spot will open its latest restaurant in the riverfront tower at 150 N. Riverside Plaza, said Kaitlin Fischer, a spokeswoman for Sodikoff's Hogsalt Hospitality company.

A more casual version of Sodikoff's Au Cheval in the West Loop, Small Cheval serves decadent cheeseburgers and fries along with milkshakes and adult beverages.

Sodikoff opened the first Small Cheval two years ago in Wicker Park before including one in his 3 Greens Market in River North. Another Small Cheval is planned in Old Town

Small Cheval will join Porter Kitchen & Deck and a future Hannah's Bretzel in the new 54-story riverfront tower off Lake Street between Wacker Drive and Canal Street.

Eater first reported the opening date.
