Bridgeport Garage Burglaries Reported, Police Say

BRIDGEPORT — Police are asking Bridgeport residents to be on the lookout after a string of garage burglaries in the area.

There have been four garages burglarized in the neighborhood since Oct. 16, police said in a community alert. In these incidents, one or more burglars break into the garages and steal property from inside, according to police.

The burglars usually struck in the overnights hours and hit two homes in the same block on consecutive days.

The incidents happened at:

Between 8 p.m. and 6:55 a.m. Oct. 16-17 in the 1300 block of West 33rd Street

Between 12 a.m. and 2 a.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of West 33rd Street

Between 12 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 3000 block of South Archer Avenue

1:38 a.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of West 33rd Street

Police did not release a description of the suspect or suspects. Anyone with information on the cases is asked to call area detectives at 312-747-8382.
