4 Car Thefts Reported In Back Of The Yards

BACK OF THE YARDS — Police are warning Back of the Yards residents to be on the lookout following a string of car thefts in the area.

There have been at least four incidents where cars were stolen in the neighborhood, police said in a news alert. In some of the incidents, the keys to the car were left inside it, police said. Three of the incidents happened on Ashland Avenue.

The incidents happened at:

• 8:30 p.m. Sept. 30 in the 4600 block of South Marshfield Avenue

• Between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Oct. 3 in the 4100 block of South Ashland Avenue

• Between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Oct. 8 in the 4300 block of South Ashland Avenue

• Between 8 a.m. and noon Oct. 16 or Oct. 17 in the 4100 block of South Ashland Avenue

Police have not released a description of the suspect or suspects. Anyone with information on the cases is asked to call 312-747-8382.
