CHICAGO — A 17-year-old boy went to the hospital Friday, a day after being shot in Austin, police said.
Police were unaware of the incident until he got to the hospital for treatment.
The shooting occurred in the 600 block of North Lavergne Avenue at 11 p.m. Thursday.
The boy was shot in his ankle, but didn't notify authorities until he showed up at West Suburban Hospital a day later.
