Man, 26, Charged In Greektown Shooting At Taco Burrito King

CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man was charged Monday with shooting two people at a Greektown restaurant over the weekend.

Deshaun Carter, 26, of Kenwood, is facing two counts of aggravated battery involving a firearm and one count of unlawful use of a weapon. There was also a warrant out for his arrest.

He is expected to appear in bond court Monday.

Police found Carter with a handgun as they responded to a battery in progress in the 800 block of West Jackson Boulevard at 4:20 a.m. Saturday.

The fight took place inside Taco Burrito King at 811 W. Jackson Blvd., according to the Tribune.

Witnesses said Carter fired shots during an altercation and injured two people. A 31-year-old man was shot in the chest and taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

A 26-year-old woman was grazed in her right foot and refused medical attention.

Carter shot himself in the leg and was taken to Stroger.
