Shootings Wound 9 People On Tuesday

CHICAGO — Shootings left nine people wounded on Tuesday.

• At 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, a 17-year-old was shot in McKinley Park.

• At 11:22 p.m., a 22-year-old man was shot in Austin, police said. The man was standing on the sidewalk in the 1600 block of North Mason Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was hit in his right foot. He was taken to West Suburban Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 9:54 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in Chatham, police said. The man was walking on the sidewalk in the 200 block of West 79th Street when someone walked up to him and fired shots.

The man was hit in his head and he was taken to Stroger Hospital. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 9:10 p.m., a 17-year-old was shot in Auburn Gresham, police said. The teen was walking on the sidewalk in the 8500 block of South Wolcott Avenue when someone in a tan-colored car fired shots at him.

The teen was hit in his chest and back and he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 8:59 p.m., a 31-year-old man and 26-year-old man were shot in West Humboldt Park.

• At 8:01 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in Bronzeville, police said. The man was inside a car in the 4700 block of South Forrestville Avenue when someone walked up to him and they got into an argument. The other person then fired shots at the 19-year-old.

The 19-year-old was hit in his chest and he took himself to Provident Hospital. He was later transferred to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.

• At 2:55 p.m., a 20-year-old man was shot in Brainerd, police said. The man was a passenger in a car in the 1300 block of West 95th Street when someone in another car drove up to him and fired shots.

The man was hit in his face and he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

• At 9:52 a.m., a 39-year-old man was shot in Garfield Park, police said. The man was standing on the sidewalk in the 2800 block of West Wilcox Street when someone in a gray SUV drove by and fired shots.

The man was hit in his leg and arm and a bullet grazed his chest. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
