CHICAGO — The Gift Theatre, 4802 N. Milwaukee Ave., will finish out this year's production season with the time-hopping drama "A Swell in the Gound," the Jefferson Park ensemble announced.

The play follows four college friends through "17 years of love affairs, shattered dreams and compromised lives" as they "try to reconcile the lives they imagined with the lives they live," the announcement reads.

The Gift Theater crafts and performs three plays each year, having kicked off 2017 with the war thriller "Unseen" and the sci fi adventure "Pilgrims."

"A Swell In The Ground" debuts its first preview showing at 7:30 p.m. Friday, with its regular run starting Oct. 20.

The play will show at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays until its final curtain Dec. 10.

Tickets start at $30 and can be bought online.
