HYDE PARK — Ghosts, ghouls and maybe a giant hot dog or a gorilla will play some spooky music for Halloween.
The University of Chicago Symphony Orchestra will play two special Halloween-themed concerts complete with costumes at 7 and 9 p.m. Oct. 28 at Mandel Hall, 1131 E. 57th St.
The Hyde Park School of Dance will join in the concert by 100 musicians dressed in costumes to play “Witchs’ Ride,” “The Noonday Witch” and other songs.
Conductor Barbara Schubert is known for her elaborate costumes and grand entrances to the annual fall concert.
People are encouraged to come hear the concert in costumes as well.
Tickets are free, but a $10 donation is requested, $5 for children and students.
