Semaj Berry, 17, Killed In Chatham Shooting

CHICAGO — A 17-year-old died after being shot in Chatham on Friday afternoon, officials said.

At 4:45 p.m., the teen was found unresponsive in the 800 block of East 83rd Steet, police said. He had been shot in his chest and he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition.

Semaj Berry, of the 6400 block of King Drive, was pronounced dead at 5:43 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No one was in custody.
