Auburn Gresham Mass Shooting Wounds 5 People

CHICAGO — Five people were shot in Auburn Gresham early Friday, police said.

At 1:18 a.m., officers went to the 8000 block of South Marshfield Avenue because someone reported a fight, police said. There, they found five people who had been shot.

The victims had been in an alley when a gunman "confronted" them and fired shots, police said.

The victims:

• A 17-year-old was shot in his back and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• A 38-year-old man was shot in his leg and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• A 17-year-old was shot in his leg and was in good condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center.

• A 19-year-old woman was shot in her leg and was in good condition at Holy Cross Hospital.

• A 20-year-old woman was shot in her leg and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital. Her condition was not available but she was listed as "stable," police said.

The victims were uncooperative with investigators, a police source said.

No one was in custody.
