CHICAGO — Police have arrested a person they say threw baby powder on a Red Line train, shutting down the Addison Station on Thursday.
The incident started at 8:26 a.m., when a passenger found a "white, powdery substance" on a train and the passengers got off at the Addison station, officials said. The station was temporarily closed as the powder was investigated.
ABC7 reported the substance was baby powder.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel, speaking Tuesday after participating in a planning exercise designed to ensure the Chicago Marathon runs smoothly on Sunday, said a suspect was arrested after a rider notified police.
The suspect was captured on surveillance cameras, Emanuel said.
Kelvin Davis, 51, of the 2900 block of West Jarvis, was charged with reckless conduct, according to the Chicago Police Department.
