Fred Anderson, 22, Killed In Chatham Shooting; Another Man Wounded

CHICAGO — A 22-year-old man was shot to death in Chatham and another man was wounded on Thursday, police said.

At 12:09 p.m., the 22-year-old was in the 8100 block of South Drexel Avenue when he got into an argument with two people, police said. Someone took out a gun and fired shots.

The 22-year-old was hit in his stomach and died, police said.

Fred Anderson, of the 8100 block of South Ellis Avenue, was pronounced dead at 12:50 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

A 41-year-old man who was in the 8100 block of South Ellis Avenue was also shot. The man was shot in his shoulder and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, police said.

The shootings were connected despite the different addresses, police said.

No one was in custody.
