SOUTH SHORE — People interested plans for Jackson Park will be split on Monday as Obama Presidential Center and Chicago Park District leadership hold simultaneous meetings.

The Park District is planning meetings to update people on plans to combine the Jackson Park and South Shore golf courses from 4-8 p.m. at the South Shore Cultural Center, 7059 S. South Shore Drive, as Obama Foundation CEO David Simas talks about Obama Center plans Downtown.

Simas is scheduled to talk about his own career and plans for the presidential center during a talk scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday in the Pritzker Auditorium at the Harold Washington Library, 400 S. State St.

The center faces continued pressure to formalize its commitments on hiring, training and other issues related to construction of the library and how the removal of roads in Jackson Park to make room for the campus will affect commuters.

Golf course planners are expected to give new details on how they will preserve areas for existing uses as the golf course expands, how nature areas will be changed to make way for greens and how much it will cost to play a round on the finished course.

Those interested in the golf course who can wait can instead go to a meeting from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Stony Island Arts Bank, 6760 S. Stony Island Ave.
