UPTOWN — After some time off, Longacre is returning to serving up square pies Thursday.

As a "welcome back thank you," the Detroit-style pizza shop at 1309 W. Wilson Ave. will offer 10-percent off all in-store purchases or phone orders until Sept. 23, said co-owner Andy Kalish.

Longacre opened with a condensed schedule in June, but closed for several weeks to do the "heavy work" on its breakfast/morning to go spot opening in the former Baker and Nosh space next door.

The breakfast spot will be the third restaurant for the husband-and-wife duo of Kalish and Gina Marino-Kalish on Wilson Avenue. They also own short-order vegan spot Kal'ish next door.

During the closure, Kalish updated the Longacre menu to include new items such as salads and house-made soups. It will also have new hours and be open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
