IRVING PARK — It wouldn't be a weekend in Chicago without a beer fest.

Head to Independence Park, 4-8 p.m. Saturday, to sample offerings from more than a dozen local craft brewers, along with live music and food trucks, 3945 N. Springfield Ave.

Tickets are $40 if purchased in advance online, or $50 at the door. Online sales end at 11 a.m. Saturday. Food and merchandise will be sold separately.

The event is 21 and over — no children or pets will be admitted.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the park's special recreation program, which is raising funds to buy new jackets and uniforms for the Special Olympics winter games.
