HYDE PARK — Two people were forced out of their Dodge Charger at gunpoint Tuesday night in Hyde Park, according to the University of Chicago Police Department.

The carjacking happened at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday in the 5300 block of South Dorchester Avenue, according to university police.

Two people were sitting in a 2017 black Dodge Charger Saturday night when a man with a handgun came up and ordered them out of the car, police said. He then drove the car north on Kenwood Avenue followed by a man in another car, according to university police.

There were no physical injuries reported and university police said the two people were unaffiliated with the university.

The Chicago Police Department is investigating the carjacking.
