Armed Robbery Spree Plagues Lakeview

LAKEVIEW — Six armed robberies have occurred in Lakeview since Aug. 19, police said.

In these incidents, victims were approached by an 18- to 25-year-old black man who showed a handgun and demanded the victims' property.

Police described the suspect as a man with braids, 5-foot-8-inches to 6 feet tall and 140-180 pound. He has been seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and black Chicago White Sox hat.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call the police at 312-744-8263.

The robberies occurred at:

• 1:30 a.m. Aug. 19 in the 500 block of West Surf St.
• 10:45 p.m. Sept. 1 in the 1700 block of West Barry Ave.
• 10:07 p.m. Sept. 5 in the 3700 block of North Bosworth Ave.
• Midnight Wednesday in the 1000 block of West Grace St.
• 1:47 a.m. Saturday in the 3000 block of North Greenview Ave.
• 5:10 a.m.  Sunday in the 1200 block of West Waveland Ave.
