DEPAUL — Philadelphia cheesesteak sandwiches come to Lincoln Park with the arrival of Philly Bros. later this month.
The Humboldt Park fast-food restaurant, located at 3944 W. Chicago Ave., moves more to the city center when it opens a new outlet at 734 W. Fullerton Ave. on Sept. 16.
Philly Bros. boasts of being a breed apart and "more than just steak," with many of the meats halal. It also has numerous shrimp dishes, Buffalo wings and chicken tenders, as well as fried Oreos for dessert.
It made its TV debut earlier this year showcasing the "Phillyafel," or a cheesy sandwich made with falafel, on the WCIU Channel 26 morning show "You & Me."
It has even tried a hybrid between the Philadelphia cheesesteak and Chicago's own Italian beef with the Philly cheese Italian beef sandwich.
It's also hiring, having posted an online job listing on Craig's List.
