CHICAGO — A 38-year-old man was shot to death in Garfield Ridge late Monday, police said.
At 10:55 p.m., the man was standing on the sidewalk in the 4400 block of South Lawler Avenue when two people walked up to him and one of them fired shots, police said.
The man was hit in his head, chest and leg. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
Gregory McDaniels Jr., of the 4700 block of South LaCrosse, was pronounced dead at 11:29 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed McDaniels died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.
No one was in custody.
