MUSEUM CAMPUS — Didn't find time to visit Shedd Aquarium this summer?

September would be a good time to go.

The aquarium at 1200 S. Lake Shore Drive will host 24 consecutive free days for Illinois residents starting Wednesday, Sept. 6.

Admission will cover permanent and special exhibits as well as aquatic shows and "Stingray Touch" sessions. Guests can upgrade to the Shedd's "4-D Experience" for $4.95.

Every Tuesday and Wednesday this month will also be free for any senior citizen, not just Illinoisans, too.

The last two Jazzin' at the Shedd events, normally $20, will also be free Sept. 6 and Sept. 13. The after-hours events feature live music and drinks with a skyline view.

The free days for Illinois residents will last through Sept. 30.

The Shedd, open since 1930, features 32,000 aquatic specimens.
