DOWNTOWN — This Labor Day weekend will have the perfect weather for saying goodbye to the summer.

The weekend will be mostly sunny with temperatures reaching the upper 80s by Monday, said Charles Mott, a National Weather Service meteorologist.

Saturday's temperatures will hit the mid-70s and the day will be rain-free and "all sun," Mott said. Temperatures will fall to about 60 degrees overnight.

Sunday will have similarly clear, sunny skies, but it'll be even warmer with temperatures peaking in the lower 80s, Mott said.

But on Monday, when people celebrate Labor Day, you might want to take an umbrella to the family barbecue: There's a 40 percent chance of rain showers and thunderstorms starting in the afternoon and carrying into Tuesday morning, Mott said.

The rain shouldn't be bad if you do get caught in a shower, Mott said. The day will start with sun and get cloudy by the afternoon, and temperatures will hit the upper 80s.
