CHICAGO — A 24-year-old man was shot to death in Gage Park on Monday, police said.
At 4:17 p.m., the man was in a car in the 5700 block of South Artesian Avenue when another car pulled up and someone inside fired shots at the man, police said.
The man was hit in his chest and he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Joshua Bates, of the 9200 block of South Princeton Avenue, was pronounced dead at 5:04 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.
The attackers drove away, police said, and no one was in custody.
