ARMOUR SQUARE — A cellphone store was robbed at gunpoint by a man believed to be involved in at least one other armed robbery, according to police.

At 4:14 p.m. on Aug. 12, an armed man walked into the store on the 200 block of West 31st Street and demanded money before leaving, according to a police community alert issued Sunday.

The man involved in that robbery is also a suspect in a cellphone store robbery in Ashburn, police said. In that incident, the man robbed a store at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 7800 block of South Western Avenue, police said.

The man has been described by police as a black man, age 23 to 26, standing 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-10 and weighing about 210 pounds. He has a medium complexion with a tattoo on his neck or face, and short, curly hair.

Anyone with information on the cases is asked to call area detectives at 312-747-8382.
