CHICAGO — Police will be looking for drunken drivers in the Jefferson Park District this weekend, sweeping the 36-square-mile expanse from the Six Corners Shopping District to O'Hare Airport, police announced Thursday.

From 7 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday, Chicago police will crank up patrols in search of impaired driving all across the Portage Park, Jefferson Park, Norwood Park, Edison Park, Edgebrook and Dunning neighborhoods.

In addition to drunken drivers, police will be looking for speeders, those not wearing their seat belts and other scofflaws.

Last weekend, a DUI saturation patrol was held in the Lincoln District on the city's Far North Side, police said. The one-night patrol yielded 61 citations for vehicle and traffic violations, but no one was arrested for driving under the influence.
