CHICAGO — A 24-year-old man was gunned down in South Shore early Friday, officials said.
At 12:45 a.m., the man was standing on the sidewalk in the 6800 block of South Jeffery Boulevard when two people walked up to him and one of them fired shots, police said.
The man was hit twice in his chest and he was taken to Northwestern Hospital in critical condition, police said. He was later pronounced dead.
The man was identified as Levell Moore, of the 3700 block of West Wilson, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. Moore was pronounced dead at 2:49 a.m.
No one was in custody.
