Chance The Rapper, Solange, Vince Staples To Speak This Fall At MCA

STREETERVILLE — The Museum of Contemporary Art is bringing in some big names this fall: Chance the Rapper, Solange and Vince Staples.

The musicians will speak as part of a series moderated by Pitchfork writers beginning with Solange at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Streeterville art museum, 220 E. Chicago Ave. The talk will be moderated by Chicago-based writer Britt Julious. 

California rapper Vince Staples will talk with Matthew Schnipper, Pitchfork's managing editor, at 6 p.m. Oct. 13. 

Chance the Rapper will talk with Adrienne Samuels Gibbs, another Chicago-based writer, at 6 p.m. Nov. 17 at the museum. 

Tickets to each talk will be $20. Tickets to the Solange talk will go on sale at noon Aug. 23, Vince Staples' tickets will go on sale at noon Sept. 6 and tickets to Chance's talk will go on sale at noon Oct. 11.

Tickets to Prime Time: Off Rack, a discussion at 7 p.m. Sept. 23 of the intersection between fashion, music and art will go on sale at noon Aug. 16.

The star-studded talks are part of the museum's 50th anniversary celebration this year, which included a fete with Pharrell Williams and Janelle Monae and a popular exhibit from Japanese pop artist Takashi Murakami. 

The talks will start about a week after the MCA opens Marisol, a new restaurant led by Jason Hammel of Logan Square's Lula Cafe.
