CHICAGO — Shootings over the weekend left three people dead and 29 wounded, police said.
Of those victims, five have been wounded in shootings since Sunday morning.
• At 3:58 a.m. Monday, a 23-year-old man was shot in Washington Park, police said. The man was standing on the sidewalk in the 5200 block of South King Drive when someone in a white car fired shots.
The man was hit in his chest and legs and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center. He was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
• At 11:50 p.m. Sunday, a 20-year-old man was shot in West Pullman, police said. The man was on a front porch in the 12200 block of South Emerald Avenue when someone fired shots at him.
The man was his in his right leg and he took himself to Metro South Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
The man was a documented gang member, a police source said.
• At 10:50 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in South Shore, police said. The man was standing on the sidewalk in the 6700 block of South East End Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain.
The man was hit in his right foot and he was taken to Jackson Park Hospital in good condition, police said.
• At 7:56 p.m., a 33-year-old man and 26-year-old man were shot in the Near North Side.
No one was in custody in these shootings.
Shootings killed three people and wounded 14 between Saturday and Sunday, and 10 people were wounded in shootings between Friday and Saturday.
