LAKEVIEW — The Foo Fighters announced a surprise show at Metro Chicago, but fans snatched up all the tickets quickly.

The Seattle-based rock band announced its official Lollapalooza after-show early Tuesday, giving fans just one hour to rally before tickets went on sale at 11 a.m.

At 11:26 a.m., the Metro announced the tickets were gone.

Tickets are $74, and there was a two-ticket limit for the Friday show. Doors open at 9:30 p.m.

The band, founded by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl in 1994, will not be performing at Lollapalooza, so it's currently the only chance for Chicago fans to catch the tour in the Windy City. Nearby, the Foo Fighters will play in Madison, Wis., on Nov. 7 and Champaign on Nov. 8.

Lollapalooza returns to Grant Park starting Thursday with a lineup boasting the likes of Chance The Rapper, Lorde, The xx and Migos.

The Foo Fighters concert is one of more than 50 aftershows and parties officially tied to Lollapalooza. The shows will be at popular concert venues around Chicago like the Vic, Thalia Hall, Empty Bottle and Schubas.
