CHICAGO — Shootings killed five people and wounded 33 over the weekend, police said.

Of those victims, two people have been killed and six wounded in shootings since Sunday morning.

• At 12:20 a.m. Monday, a 21-year-old man was shot and killed in Belmont Cragin.

• At 4:31 p.m. Sunday, a 20-year-old man was found shot to death in a Washington Heights backyard.

In non-fatal shootings:

• At 4:30 a.m. Monday, a 20-year-old man was wounded by a shooting in Belmont Cragin, police said. The man was walking going through a gangway in the 2000 block of North Laporte Avenue when someone walked up to him, took out a gun and fired shots.

The man's back was grazed by a bullet and he refused medical attention, police said.

The attacker ran away, police said.

• At 10:30 p.m. Sunday, a 26-year-old man was shot in Austin, police said. The man was sitting in a parked car in the 1000 block of North Lockwood Avenue when two men walked up to him and fired shots.

The man was hit multiple times and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.

• Also at 10:30 p.m., an 18-year-old man was shot in Washington Park, police said. The man was driving in the 5600 block of South Michigan Avenue when a red car pulled alongside him and someone inside fired shots.

The man was hit in his right leg and he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 10 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot in Rogers Park.

• At 7:01 p.m., a 39-year-old man was shot in South Shore, police said. The man was in the 7200 block of South Phillips Avenue when he was shot multiple times.

The man was taken to Northwestern Hospital in critical condition, police said.

No further information was immediately available.

• At 4:15 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in West Englewood, police said. The man was sitting on his porch in the 6800 block of South Winchester Avenue when a red car drove up and someone inside the car fired shots.

The man was hit in his upper left thigh and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, police said.

No one was in custody in these shootings.

Fourteen people were wounded in shootings between Saturday and Sunday, and three people were killed and 13 wounded in shootings Friday to Saturday.
