Diego Sandoval, 21, Killed And Another Man Wounded In Chicago Lawn Shooting

CHICAGO — A shooting in Chicago Lawn killed one man and wounded another Monday night, police said.

At 10:10 p.m., the men were driving in the 2600 block of West 63rd Street when they stopped at a red light, police said. Someone walked up to their car and fired shots.

A 21-year-old man was hit in his chest and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, police said.

Diego Sandoval, of the 6100 block of South Rockwell Street, was pronounced dead at 10:30 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

A 26-year-old man had his chest grazed by a bullet and he was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

No one was in custody.
