CHICAGO — A 43-year-old man was shot to death in Austin on Monday night, police said.
At 11:10 p.m., the man was standing on a porch in the 300 block of North Lorel Avenue when three people walked out of a gangway and got into a fight with the man, police said.
One of the three people who had come out of a gangway pulled out a gun and shot at the man, police said. The man was hit in his head and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.
Dayvy Rivas, of the 5000 block of West Montana Street, was pronounced dead at 6:25 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
No one was in custody.
