DOWNTOWN — Colorado Springs, Virginia Beach, Omaha — they've all got at least one thing in common: They're better cities to live in than Chicago.

That's according to new rankings from WalletHub, which looked at the "best" big cities for people to live in and ranked them based on their affordability, economy, education and health, quality of life and safety.

Chicago came in at No. 18 in the rankings, behind Virginia Beach (No. 1), New York City (No. 11) and Honolulu (No. 13 — but, to be fair, who wouldn't want to live in Honolulu?). No other city in Illinois made the list.

Ranked last, at No. 62, was Detroit.

Chicago was ranked No. 1 when it came to access to public transportation and ranked high for its bikeability (No. 5), but it fell slightly below average for income growth (36th) and how much parkland it has (34th).
