UPTOWN — The Polonia Beach Volleyball Championship returns to Montrose Beach next month.

From 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 13, the Junior Board of Polish American Association and Polonijna Liga Siatkowski Chicago will host the volleyball tournament at 4400 N. Lake Shore Drive, now in its third year, according to a press release for the event.

The tournament will have three divisions of play: competitive 2s (pro), women/co-ed 4s (intermediate) and coed 6s (recreational).

Tournament registration includes three guaranteed games, T-shirts for the first 100 to register and prizes and engraved medals for the top three finishers in each division.

Teams must register by Aug. 1 and can do so here. Team registration is $80 for 2-on-2, $100 for 4-on-4, $150 for 6-on-6 and $30 for an individual.

The tournament benefits the Polish American Association and 28 other "programs for those in need," the release said.
