Dautreau Bates, 29, Killed In Roseland Shooting

CHICAGO — A 29-year-old man was gunned down in Roseland late Thursday, police said.

At 11:50 p.m., officers responding to a call of a person shot in the 200 block of West 95th Street found the man lying in the street next to a car, police said.

The man had been shot in his head and he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Dautreau Bates, of the 400 block of West 95th Place, was pronounced dead at 12:26 a.m. Friday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.

No one was in custody.

The circumstances of the shooting were unknown, police said, and no information was immediately available.
