DOWNTOWN — Former Bulls star Jimmy Butler made news when he put his River North mansion on the market for $5 million.

But it was Butler's shoe-packed closet (which is probably bigger than your whole condo) that really got the buzz going. A photo of the room shows shelves stacked with shoes — including multiple pairs of pricey, identical sneakers in some cases — and even more spread out along the floor.

So, how many shoes does Butler have?

DNAinfo counted at least 1,054 shoes, or 526 pairs — but the photo doesn't show the entire closet, meaning there could be more.

Among our finds: Butler appears to own several pairs of cowboy boots (you can spy them in the left side of the photo). Butler, a Texas native, told the Red Eye in 2012 that he likes wearing cowboy boots — and had a collection that could rival other players' gym shoe acquisitions.

Butler also appears to have four pairs of Jordan AJ 1 High Decons (two pairs in baby blue and two in pink), with each of those selling for about $90. There's another two pairs of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OGs, which go for $175-$180.

Butler was asked about his huge sneaker collection in an interview on ESPN's SportsCenter Tuesday night. At first he jokingly told the network to take down the image of his shoes that was flashed on the screen during the interview.

But asked if he was proud of the collection shown in the picture, he said: "I love my brand and my sneakers. They always take great care of me and that's how it looks when you are with the Jordan brand."

Butler told Complex earlier this year that one of his favorite shoes is the Air Jordan XII Low ($170), but he wears a pair of Air Jordan 1s ($160) the most. Former President Barack Obama even told Butler he liked his sneakers during the player's trip to the White House, Butler said.

"I don't really pay attention to how much sneakers cost or anything like that," Butler told Complex. "I just like sneakers, to tell the truth."
