West Loop Crash Kills Driver, 23, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man was killed in a car crash in the West Loop early Saturday, police said.

At 4:30 a.m., the man was driving a Jetta in the 900 block of West Randolph Street when he hit a concrete median, police said. The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of death was blunt force head injuries from the crash, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. The death was ruled an accident. 

As of Monday morning, the Medical Examiner's office had not released the man's identity. 

An investigation into the crash was ongoing. No further information was immediately available.
