DOWNTOWN — Fire up the grill: Chicago will have a comfortable and rain-free Fourth of July.
The city could face partly cloudy skies for Independence Day, said Kevin Birk, a National Weather Service meteorologist, but no rain or thunderstorms are expected to hit.
Temperatures will stick around the mid- to upper 70s along the lakeshore, Birk said. Further inland, they'll rise to the low to mid-80s.
Winds on Tuesday shouldn't be too strong, either, as they're expected to hit 10-15 mph, Birk said.
"Overall, fairly quiet and somewhat cooler weather ... especially near the lake," Birk said.
The normal temperature for this time of year in Chicago is 84 degrees.
