LINCOLN PARK — Water-main improvements are requiring workers to cut off the water supply in areas of Lincoln Park Friday.

Ald. Michele Smith (43rd) warned on her Facebook page that water would be shut off Friday after both sides of Halsted Street between Wrightwood and Fullerton avenues had the water supply cut off Thursday.

Friday's work area is more extensive. Residents should be prepared for the water supply to be out from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on both sides of:

• Racine Avenue between Fullerton and Altgeld Street.

• Altgeld between Racine and Sheffield Avenue.

• Seminary Avenue between Fullerton and Lill Avenue.

• Montana Street between Lill and Seminary.

"These are previously scheduled shutoffs due to the water-main improvements that have been underway," Smith's Chief of Staff Adam Gypalo said. "The contractor had previously notified the buildings on either side of the areas of impact to make the adjacent neighbors aware, so our posting was a secondary alert as a follow-up reminder."

Smith said in the "best-case scenario" the water supply would be off for a little as three hours.
