CHICAGO — A 16-year-old was gunned down in Ashburn on Wednesday night, police said.
At 7:32 p.m., the teen was walking with his brother in the 7900 block of South Christiana Avenue when several people also walking outside fired shots at them, police said.
The teen was hit in his back and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, police said.
Jose Mendoza Jr., of the 7800 block of South Christiana Avenue, was pronounced dead at 8:04 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
No one was in custody.
