Burglars Hitting Hyde Park Garages, Police Warn

HYDE PARK — Garages have been robbed three times in the last week in Hyde Park, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Police issued an alert Tuesday after a string of burglaries where someone broke into a garage and stole items inside.

Garages on the 5400 block of South Drexel Boulevard were burglarized between 6 p.m. and 5:20 a.m. on Thursday and Friday.

Also on Friday, a garage was burglarized between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on the 5400 block of South Greenwood Avenue.

Police are reminding people to make sure the doors and windows on their garages remain locked.

Anyone with information about any of the burglaries is encouraged to call the Area Central Bureau of Detectives at 312-747-8380.
