CHICAGO — Five people were shot in Austin during a single incident on Tuesday night, police said.
At 8:48 p.m., the victims were standing and sitting in front of a home in the 200 block of South Lotus Avenue when someone walked up, fired shots and ran away, police said.
The victims:
• A 20-year-old woman was hit in her right leg and left elbow and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.
• A 19-year-old woman was hit in her back and right forearm and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.
• A 39-year-old woman was shot in her left foot and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.
• An 18-year-old man was hit multiple times in his legs and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
• A 16-year-old boy was shot in his right knee and was treated and released at Stroger Hospital.
No one was in custody.
