CHICAGO — Shootings killed five people in just nine hours on Monday — and another nine people have been wounded in shootings since Monday morning.

• At 10:10 p.m. Monday, a 23-year-old man was found shot to death in Back of the Yards.

• At 7:55 p.m., a man who was 27 to 28 years old was gunned down in Austin.

• At 7:35 p.m., a 13-year-old boy was shot and killed while in a backyard in Washington Heights.

• At 6:30 p.m., a 26-year-old man was fatally shot during a robbery in South Chicago.

• At 1:20 p.m., a 29-year-old man shot to death during a robbery in Avalon Park.

In non-fatal shootings:

• At 2:09 a.m. Tuesday, a 21-year-old man was shot in South Shore, police said. The man was walking outside in the 7000 block of South Merrill Avenue when two people walked up to him, took out a gun and fired shots.

The man was hit in his back and arm and was taken to Northwestern Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

The man is a documented gang member, a police source said.

• At 10:10 p.m. Monday, a 25-year-old man and 18-year-old man were shot in Auburn Gresham, police said. The 25-year-old was standing on the sidewalk in the 8500 block of South Carpenter Street when someone in a brown hooded sweatshirt walked up to him and fired shots.

The older man was hit in his right arm and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

The 18-year-old later took himself to Little Company of Mary Hospital and said he'd been shot in his left leg during the incident. The man's condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 10 p.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in Garfield Park, police said. The man was walking on the sidewalk in the 3700 block of West Flournoy Street when he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was hit in his left arm and he took himself to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

The man is a documented gang member, a police source said.

• At 1:15 p.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in North Lawndale, police said. The man was in the 3000 block of West Arthington Street when he was shot in his left arm.

The man was taken to Rush University Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

No further information was immediately available.

• At 12:41 p.m., an 18-year-old man and 23-year-old man were shot in Austin, police said. The men were standing outside in the 4900 block of West Adams Street when a dark-colored car drove up and several people inside the car fired shots.

The 18-year-old man was hit in his left foot and the 23-year-old man was hit in his left thigh, police said. They were in good condition.

The attackers drove away after the shooting, police said.

• At 10:39 a.m., a 26-year-old man was shot in South Shore, police said. The man was in the 2500 block of East 78th Street when someone got out of a dark-colored SUV and fired shots at the man.

The man was hit in his left thigh and he was taken to Northwestern Hospital, where he was in good condition, police said.

• At 6:36 a.m., a 44-year-old man was shot in Little Village.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
