CHICAGO — A woman burned herself to death in a Monday night fire in Back of the Yards, police said.
At 11:25 p.m., officials went to a garage fire in the 4800 block of South Bishop Street, police said. They found a woman dead in the garage.
The woman was pronounced dead at 1:10 a.m. at the scene. An autopsy later showed she died from thermal injuries in a suicide, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
A death investigation was ongoing.
