CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man was shot and killed in Back of the Yards on Monday night, police said.
At 10:10 p.m., officers responding to a call of a person shot found the man lying on the sidewalk in the 5400 block of South Bishop Street, police said. The man had been shot in his head and he was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.
Arthur McGraw, of the 5100 block of South Laflin, was pronounced dead at 10:52 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The circumstances of the shooting were unknown. A police source said the man was a documented gang member.
No one was in custody.
