CHICAGO — A 13-year-old boy was shot and wounded while walking on the Near West Side early Monday, police said.
At 12:35 a.m., the boy was walking on the sidewalk in the 1800 block of West Maypole Avenue when someone in a passing black car fired shots at him, police said.
The boy was hit in his left leg and taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
No one was in custody.
