CHICAGO — A woman was killed in a fiery one-car crash in River North early Monday, police said.
At 1:30 a.m., the driver of a Nissan was speeding in the 400 block of West Ontario Street when the car hit a utility pole, police said. The car spun out and burst into flames.
The driver, a man, got out of the car and ran away, police said.
The passenger, a woman in her 20s, was pulled from the car by emergency responders and was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
