NEAR WEST SIDE — One man was killed and two men were injured in a shooting on the Near West Side Tuesday night.

At about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to a scene in the 200 block of South Hoyne Avenue near Touhy-Herbert Park, said Officer Michelle Tannehill, Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

The three victims were standing at Adams and Hoyne when a dark-colored vehicle drove by and four unknown occupants exited and fired shots, striking the victims, police said.

A 26-year-old man, identified as Antwon High, was pronounced dead at the scene. He suffered a gunshot wound to his chest, Tannehill said.

High lived in the 1300 block of South Tripp, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. He was pronounced dead at 9:05 p.m.

A 21-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the groin was transported to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.

A 23-year-old victim with a gunshot wound in his left knee also was transported to Stroger Hospital and was reportedly in stable condition, police said.

Area Central detectives are investigating the shooting.

No other information was immediately available.

Located a few blocks west of the United Center, two schools border Touhy-Herbert Park — Dett Elementary School and Chicago Bulls College Prep.
