CHICAGO — A fire damaged a vacant building on the Near West Side early Friday, officials said.

At 5:35 a.m., firefighters were called to a blaze in a two-story building at 220 N. Laflin St., spokesman Juan Hernandez said. The building was vacant and appeared to be under construction, he said.

No one was reported injured in the fire, Hernandez said, and it was put out by 7:10 a.m.
